Successful Scorton

Tuesday 11th February 2014

The preparation work which Reg Alder had obviously put in during the lead up to the ceremony of installing Bob Whittingham as his successor as WM of Scorton Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1103 ensured that the evening was a successful one.
In front of Past Provincial Deputy Grand Master Tony Harrison, who was representing the P.G.M., and numerous other members and visitors Reg undertook his work in a thoughtful and meaningful manner.

Bob was in the fortunate position of being able to appoint Brethren who have not been through the chair to all the progressive offices, other than that of Tyler, which bodes well for the future.

Amongst those witnessing proceedings were five Masters in office, namely Mike Shakeshaft of Bispham with Norbreck Lodge, Alan Foster of Philadelphia Lodge of Installed Mark Masters, Ian Cottam of Furness Lodge, Jack Craig of Garnett Lodge and Tony Harrison of Unity Lodge.

The West Lancashire Mark Charity Fund was the beneficiary of a cheque for £700 presented to Tony by Reg. Afterwards Special Representative Brian Davey commented, “It was a delight to be present among friends both new and old this evening and enjoy a lovely ceremony followed by good fellowship at the installation banquet.”
